Panasonic have one of the largest ranges of full HD Plasma TV models. Only a year ago a full HD plasma was the top ‘must have’ television that came with a price tag to match. Now however, plasmas are better value than ever. Next to the latest LED TVs with backlighting and local dimming technology they compare favourably in terms of both quality and price. No longer are they the heavyweight giants that they used to be, they are stylishly slim, produce better images than ever before, and come with all the features found in other more expensive TVs. Lets take a look at one of the latest Panasonic models that best demonstrates all the qualities of a modern plasma TV.
Panasonic Full HD 50” Plasma 3D TV – model TC-P50VT20
This model has all of the features that you would expect of a cutting edge television. It has a THX certified 3D Full HD 1080p display and features Viera Cast online internet content. Here are a summary of the technologies it uses.
3D Full HD – There have been many advances in televisions technology, some more significant than others. 3D Full HD is definitely becoming one of the most significant developments in recent times. Only a year ago 3D TV seemed a novelty with few practical uses. But now with every major manufacturer pushing the technology, the wide range of media that is hitting our screens now and in the future with planned dedicated 3D TV channels, the 3D revolution is finally here. Leading the way in 3D technology, this Panasonic full HD plasma TV demonstrates exactly what 3D viewing is all about.
What sets this 50 inch full HD plasma apart from its competitors is the way the 3d images are produced. Simply put, a 3D TV works by producing separate images for each eye. Panasonic’s implementation goes further than this by producing Full HD images alternately for each eye at a rate of 60 fps for each eye. It is called ‘Frame Sequential Technology’. The 3D glasses that the viewer wears filters out the corresponding images to produce a separate Full HD image for each eye. With this method the old problems of blurring and poor image quality have been eliminated.
Other technological advancements that improve picture quality is something Panasonic call ‘Indefinite Black Panel Pro’. Through the use of a new panel design and improvement in plasma technology this Panasonic 50” Full HD plasma is capable of a contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1. This simply means it is capable of darker blacks and brighter whites on-screen at the same time than was ever possible before. In practical terms, unwanted greying of dark on-screen areas has been improved meaning greater detail and clarity of fine details.
Finally keeping with another trend that we have seen recently is the integration of televisions with the internet. This particular Panasonic 50 inch Full HD plasma model also comes with a feature called ’Viera Cast’. This enables the television to display an ever expanding range of internet content on the TV with out the use of a PC. The content available includes YouTube, Fox Sports, Pandora Radio, Netflix movies, Twitter and even conferencing with Skype.
