When you are trying to create an eye-popping, informative website, it’s usually a good idea to have a collection of pictures at your disposal. Usually, having pictures that are whimsical or cute will catch the eye of visitors to your site. But where would you go to look?
Let’s say that you wanted some lion cub pictures. There are a number of websites that you could buy stock images from, where you could look for some particularly cute cartoon pictures of lion cubs. It is essential to read the fine print, as some websites only allow use of their images for a period of time. The good news is that most of these websites only allow the highest quality of pictures, and they are usually posted in a .jpg format, which allows you to resize the picture as you see fit. However, it’s a good idea to save the image as a .tiff file, as .jpg files that are saved repeatedly lose some of their digital information each time.
So, now you know the basics and want to search for the pictures you want. A couple of things that you want to keep in mind are quality, price range, and insuring that the images you decide to use are relevant to your site and its content. Most images are high quality, as stated above, but it’s still a good idea to browse around before purchasing an image. This brings us to price. They could be relatively inexpensive, costing only a couple of dollars, or they could be pricey, costing a couple of hundred. You also want to make sure that the pictures you use fit together with the content of the site. Using cute cartoons on a true crime blog probably wouldn’t mesh well.
