What You Need For The Best 3D Projectors

3D TV, films and games are rapidly gaining in popularity. It wasn’t long ago that this technology was limited to the cinema, and was still lagging behind a bit in realism. Now, 3D is big business and all the major television networks, films studios and gaming companies are investing heavily in the technology. To get the best 3D experience at home you are going to want to get your hands one of the best 3D projectors on the market. There are also a few other things that you are going to need.

1. 3D Glasses
They haven’t quite worked out yet how to make 3D technology work without you having to wear those funky glasses, so for the moment you are going to need a pair to work with your 3D projector.

2. 3D Content
You are going to need some 3D content to actually watch. This could be a 3D TV live broadcast or a 3D BlueRay DVD.

3. 3D Projector
You will need a good quality projector to project that 3D content. These come in all kinds of shapes and sizes, and while you can spend a fortune on large ones, there are some great mini projector options out there as well.

4. Screen
You can project your 3D image straight on to a wall, but you will find that it doesn’t give you the sharpest picture or the best 3D effect. Therefore, you are going to want a good quality projection screen to watch your image outputted from your projector on.

5. Cables
You’ll want high quality cables to hook it all together. Go for gold plated HDMI and you should be able to get the highest quality image out of your device.

If you cover all of the above bases you will be able to get yourself a nice home 3D setup going. Make sure you spend money on good quality where you can afford it as you will reap the rewards of a better overall 3D experience.

DIY Projector Screen Project

Setting up your own home theater used to be reserved for only the ultra rich, but thanks to cheaper electronics, it is within your reach. You do not want to skimp on the projector itself. While $7,000 might be a bit on the pricey side, you can get a quality projector for just over a thousand dollars and spend a fraction of that on the ultimate diy projector screen.

While there are levels of projects ranging from challenging to simple, we are going to talk about the simplest. Installing a motorized projector screen heads the challenging list while buying and using a tripod projector screen is on the no-so-challenging list. But for the easiest and most durable of projector screens, buy some screen paint and then paint that screen on the wall!

Buying screen paint might seem crazy, but at $300 a can, you know that it is not your ordinary paint. You can buy two main varieties — ultra white and a light gray. The white paint will make your colors bright and the gray will give you those lovely deep blacks. You will need to decide which one matters more to you. Then once you have the projector installed, you may need to adjust the color to get just the mix you want.

Before you paint it is important to make sure that you have picked the best room for the theater. If you haven’t assessed the rooms for natural light, size and acoustics then the best home theater equipment will fall flat. Does the room have any windows? Can they be covered with heavy curtains? You will want to block out as much natural light as you can otherwise the colors will wash out.

Next, how big is the room? If the seating is not the right distance from the screen (or wall) then the picture will be distorted to your eye. Lastly, is the room big enough to handle the 5 channels of a standard home theater sound system? You want distinct zones for the sound. Plan out the space before you purchase the projector to ensure that everything is going to fall into place. And then you can sit back and enjoy your new home theater!
