Do you have digital photos scattered on different hard drives? Do you have movies that you have downloaded, but you don’t want to sit in front of your computer and watch? How about a hodge podge of music files in one form or another? Most people will answer these questions with a resounding yes.
The digital age has been upon us long enough for most people to have many different digital files in many different formats. Usually these files are scattered on different flash drives, hard drives, and memory cards. Your older files are on your older computer that you don’t use any more. Your current files are on your current computer, and every mix in between.
A new way to get organized is with an HD Media player. There are many different forms of HD media players. But most are small devices equipped with software that is a go between from your hd television and your media files.
Usually the device will connect to your television and a hard drive via USB. Some will connect directly to your computer and download the media files. Some have networking capabilities and streaming capabilities. Some are just portable drives that download from your computer and then connect to your TV or any set, since they are small and portable.
Most have built in software that provides organization of different media files and codecs for playback of most formats. Some do a better job than others so this is an important factor when deciding which is the best HD media player.
Once you have chosen the device that is right for you. Then all you have to do is access your media files, and you can organize and view them on your big screen. This is great for watching movies, or showing off family pictures, or vacation videos.
If you really want to get organized you can get a separate media hard drive and download all of your current media on it. You can create separate files for audio, video, and images. You can have a drive just for music or a drive just for movies. You can even create digital scrapbooks and have them in a portable device for viewing at Grandma’s house or the family reunion.
If you just want to access all of your files you can get something like the WD HD TV live, which has USB connections for a hard drive, and networking, and streaming capabilities. This way you can just plug into your network and you can view, play, and organize files on the fly. If you decide that there are some files you want to transfer to the drive and some you want to delete it has that capability too.
HD media players are filling a gap between gathering our digital media and actually using it. No matter what your needs are you should be able to find an affordable device with all of the latest codecs and features for organizing and viewing your media.
